Stainless Steel Fabrication
At Du Fresne Manufacturing, we pride ourselves on our world-class customer service, and part of that is our ability to work with a variety of materials, including stainless steel. Stainless steel is an ideal solution for various applications in highly corrosive and rough environments. Stainless steel is a metal that fabricates well and comes with long-term value and 100% recyclability.
Although stainless steel typically costs more than other metals, it does not require any post-finishing such as paint or plating, which eliminates post-fabrication costs altogether. Because stainless steel is a highly versatile metal, it comes with a variety of options for finish. Our most commonly used stainless steel, the standard grade 304, comes in a variety of finishes such as 2B for a smooth, shiny finish, #4 for a brushed finish and #8 for a mirror finish. Due to the strength of stainless steel, it is also possible to reduce the thickness of your product vs. using alternatives like cold rolled steel. Another way we make stainless steel a more cost-effective solution for our customers is through our highly efficient manufacturing techniques. For stainless steel fabrication, we use a Timesaver rotary deburring machine, which eliminates 100% of the sharp edges and burrs and substantially decreases deburring costs.
One of the largest benefits of selecting stainless steel, aside from its aesthetic appeal, is its durability and heat resistance properties. This allows this metal to be useful for many industries. Examples of industries that commonly use stainless steel include:
- Elevator industry
- Industrial equipment
- Blood or human contact device manufacturing
- Food Services and Manufacturing
